Nostalgia Information

Nestled in the heart of New Orleans at 125 Camp St, Nostalgia invites you into a cozy, eclectic space that feels like a charming step back in time. From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted by a sense of warmth and familiarity, thanks to the vintage décor that recalls the golden days of the past. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem, offering not just food, but an experience that feels both familiar and exciting.

The menu at Nostalgia offers a delightful mix of comfort foods with a modern twist, reflecting the city’s rich culinary heritage while incorporating fresh, contemporary flavors. Whether you’re in the mood for a perfectly seared steak or a refreshing, vibrant salad, there’s something for everyone. The shrimp and grits, a New Orleans classic, is especially noteworthy - tender shrimp paired with creamy grits and a flavorful, slightly spicy sauce that ties it all together. If you’re in the mood for something a little more adventurous, the duck confit with orange glaze is a standout, offering a perfect balance of savory and sweet.

Service at Nostalgia is equally impressive, with the staff offering attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable service that makes you feel right at home. They’re quick to recommend wine pairings or offer insight into menu choices, always with a smile. The atmosphere, while laid-back, exudes a special charm, with dim lighting, vintage music softly playing in the background, and antique furniture scattered throughout the dining area. The space feels like it could belong in a movie set, and it perfectly complements the vibe of the restaurant.

In addition to the food and ambiance, Nostalgia offers a thoughtful selection of cocktails, many inspired by New Orleans’ storied history. The classic Sazerac is a must-try, delivering all the right notes of rye, absinthe, and bitters, while their seasonal creations add a refreshing twist to the drink menu. Whether you're enjoying a quiet dinner or sharing drinks with friends, the atmosphere at Nostalgia encourages relaxation and enjoyment.

For dessert, be sure to save room for their decadent bread pudding, a true New Orleans treat. Warm and rich, with a hint of rum sauce, it’s the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes in pure bliss after the first bite.

In a city full of dining options, Nostalgia stands out not just for its exceptional food but for the way it makes you feel. It’s a place that’s as much about the memories it evokes as it is about the meals it serves. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot is one you’ll want to visit again and again.

What People's Say About Place

Amazing vibes, great drinks and okay beignets. Come here to play arcade games and get some drinks with your friends and it will be one hell of a night. I got a caramel bourbon drink that was basically a spiked caramel ice coffee, a flavor combo you can’t miss with. The beignets were okay. There was too much powdered sugar and the dough wasn’t strong enough to stand up to it so they were just kinda mushy. The service was great and the arcade games are free, which are the cherry on top. Come for the drinks and stay for the games.

I’m from a small town, so I’ve never seen a place that served coffee AND mixed [alcoholic] drinks. I was there for coffee (they suggested the beignet coffee, but I got it without the shot) but learned they had food too, so I had time to take in the atmosphere. 90s hip hop / r&b vibe, comfortable seating areas, and arcade games make this place my new #1 place to visit in NO. I had a great time vibing with the locals. Owner, his employees, and even his friends were all cool as heck.

Cute little spot right next to the Sheraton off of Canal. Went on a Friday night. Nice vibes with the lights dimmed, the music playing not too loud and the vintage VHS playing on the old school oversized TV. There is an area where you can play console games on the TV. There are some vintage arcade games and some card & board games as well. Now let’s talk about food. I am a food lover but what’s more important is customer service. If you have an amazing product or great food but bad service that’s a zero out of five for me but this place…customer service was great. One couple in front of us was ordering when we entered and he (the staff) was patient while we looked over the menu then answered all of our questions respectfully. The food was amazing too. I mean soooo good. We will definitely visit this place again next time we are in town.

We got lucky with finding this helluva gem just past Canal in the CBD. The owner/proprietor had pieced together the right amount of delicious coffee beverages and 90s pop culture. The beverages are delectable and unique. While waiting the short time until your order is ready, enjoy the flashback to your childhood. Also, the owner is a wonderful and friendly soul. He is inviting in both conversation and with hosting your group. Please give this place a shot. You will not regret it.

We waited all for the food to come out but the wait was definitely worth it. The food was hot and fresh and seasoned well. Hopefully when I come the next time they won’t be out of the red beans and rice. Try the Lavender Vanilla Lemonade, it is very delicious and refreshing.

A nice hidden gem with really good food and drinks. The BLT had perfectly crunchy bacon and egg. We also had the classic beignets and were pleasantly surprised at how good they are. The atmosphere is relaxed, you can play at the arcades for free, the staff is super friendly and the prices are good too (we spent less than 15$ per person). Definitely recommend!

Awesome little coffee shop style cafe with really friendly folks and a great one page menu. It’s a great place to hang out and the menu is an easy on the budget way to take a break from all of the uber-Cajun food. Lots of fun to play the free games while you wait. Nostalgia is a great name since I enjoyed showing all of the arcade games from my childhood to my son.

I can't say enough good things about this cafe! We had the best time! We played all the old school game machines, and they had board games we had a great time waiting on our food! And their beignets were great! They guy was so nice and brought them since we were waiting a while, we didn't even notice bc we were having such a good time having fun!! If you have a kid or are a fun living adult this is a must stop breakfast joint in nola!! Will visit here everytime now, it's a hidden city gem!
